The BEAT Festival was delighted to give two free performances as part of our inaugural festival in the beautiful MetroTech Commons in Downtown Brooklyn. These events took place on the two Fridays during the festival, September 14th & 21st.
On Friday September 14th, the performers were spoken word artists Malcolm Wicks and Gabriel Barralaga, and master tap dancer Marshall Davis Jr. On September 21st, performers were American Opera Projects/Opera on Tap sharing excerpts from their OPERAtion Brooklyn and dancer/choreographer Courtney Giannone.
Check out our photo stream below, as well as two videos captured of the performance from the 21st. Enjoy and please share with your friends!
These events were made possible by the generous support of Forest City Ratner Companies.
