Sept 15:

Dzieci: “Fools Mass” (Flatbush) &

Irondale Ensemble: “Color Between the Lines” (Park Slope)

This Saturday begins with Rev. Dan Ramm giving a tour of the historic Flatbush Reformed Church, followed by Theatre Group Dzieci’s “Fools Mass” performed in the Church House chapel.  You are then led from Flatbush to Park Slope where you’ll be treated by coffee and a snack at the newly opened, Cafe Dada.  This is followed by a performance of “Color Between the Lines” by the Irondale Ensemble at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.

Schedule:

12:30pm – Tour of Flatbush Reformed Church with Reverend Dan Ramm
1:00pm – Theatre Group Dzieci, “Fools Mass”, Flatbush Reformed Church
2:30pm – Q Train to 7th Ave stop
3:00pm – Snack at Cafe Dada
4:30pm – The Irondale Ensemble, “Color Between the Lines”, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music
6:00pm – Post-performance talk by Karen Geer, Executive Director, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music

Creative Outlet Dance: “Urban Roots”
(Fort Greene) & 

Elevator Repair Service: “Shuffle”
(Prospect Heights)

On this, the final Saturday of the BEAT Festival, experience both modern dance and immersive theater in this very special BEAT Saturdays program.  Begin the day at The Irondale Center in Fort Greene and see both Courtney Giannone and Creative Outlet Dance Theatre.  This is followed by a special talk in the Irondale cafe with Terry Greiss, Irondale’s Executive Director.  Then, have dinner in Prospect Height’s favorite tapas restaurant “Beast”.  After dinner, head to the Brooklyn Public Library for Elevator Repair Service’s final performance of “Shuffle”.

Schedule:

3:00pm – Courtney Giannone/Creative Outlet Dance Theatre, “Protean Acts/Urban Roots”, The Irondale Center
4:30pm – Talk with Terry Greiss, Irondale Cafe
5:30pm – Via the Q, arrive at “Beast” for pre-fixe tapas dinner
6:30pm – Travel on foot to Brooklyn Public Library (Central Library, Grand Army Plaza)
7:00pm – Elevator Repair Service, “Shuffle”, Brooklyn Public Library
