BEAT/SEATS

BEAT/SEATS is our ticketing policy, audience development initiative and our seed program for new, emerging artists based right here in Brooklyn.  It also represents our commitment to community and in making contemporary performance art accessible and open to everyone.

Ticketing Policy

For all BEAT performances, there will be seats available for $20.  There may be special events where we need to charge more (opening night, for example).  But, even for these programs, we will offer tickets for $20.  Community building is essential to our aim of serving Brooklyn, and making tickets widely available to people who want to experience a BEAT performance is imperative to our cause.

BEAT/SEATS At The Door

For all BEAT performances, available tickets at the door will be sold for a suggested donation of $20.  No one will be excluded from the performance due to the price of the tickets.  If someone arrives to the show with $10/$5/$1, they can get a seat (if capacity hasn’t yet been reached).  If a show sells-out online prior to the box office opening, we will also reserve a few BEAT/SEATS to be available to the first people who come to the theater.  There will always be tickets available at the door, no matter if the show is sold out online.

BEAT Fellows

$1 of all tickets sold will go into a fund to directly support Brooklyn-based emerging artists.  We are currently seeking a sponsor who would be willing to match the total we reach to increase the value of the fund.  After each year’s BEAT Festival, we will open an application process for artists who are interested in the grant which will be designated for new work.
