About Jamila Youngstedt:
Jamila Youngstedt holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance (Magna Cum Laude) from Cornish College of the Arts, where she studied on scholarship. Miss Youngstedt currently resides in New York City, where she is an Apprentice with ZviDance. She has also performed with Loren Royse & Co., Kinetic Architecture Dance Theatre, Buglisi Dance Theatre, and Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre. While at Cornish College of the Arts, Miss Youngstedt performed works by Merce Cunningham (MinEvent), Iyun Harrison, Pat Hon, and Kristen Legg. Prior to studying at Cornish, Jamila studied dance at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan, where she performed works by Wendy Masterson, Jennifer Mabus, and Christian Burns, as well as The Nutcracker and Coppelia. She has also trained at Mark Morris Dance Group, the Bartholin International Ballet Seminar in Copenhagen, Denmark, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, BalletMet, Interlochen Arts Camp, and the Flint Institute of Music Dance Division. She is a Pilates Mat Alliance Certified Pilates Mat Instructor and Certified GYROTONIC® Trainer.
